“There is no growth without real feeling. Children not loved for who they are do not learn how to love themselves. Their growth is an exercise in pleasing others, not in expanding through experience. As adults, they must learn to nurture their lost child.”
— Marion Woodman
Through my work and years of experience counselling teenagers, I have been made very aware of the low self-esteem, suffering, and pain they are feeling. For parents, it is unbearably hard to have their child be in such a state of emotional suffering. The path to adulthood is unclear for a generation marked by the emergence of social media and young minds drowning in an information overload era. I work closely with teens and young adults building a therapeutic alliance and nurturing space for reflection, growth, and resilience-building. In my sessions, I delve into the themes and concerns that resonate with each individual young person. I provide unwavering support whether they’re grappling with peer bullying, academic stress, relationship dynamics, sexuality, gender identity, or the exhilarating pursuit of discovering who they are in a world that has become very noisy. I anchor my work in deep empathy, active listening, and a commitment to each young person’s well-being and growth.
